Diets and Dresses

So today is the day I went to pick up my wedding dress. It also happens to mark the one-month point since I've started doing the "portion" diet with WebMD. Let's be honest, I prefer to call it a "lifestyle change" rather than a diet, because I don't intend on going back to a 2000+ calorie diet anytime soon. So, lifestyle change underway, I have been noticing that I'm slimming down. Realistically, I don't have a lot of weight to lose - this isn't a Biggest Loser-type slim down. This is a 3 pounder, at most. Just enough so nothing jiggles when I walk. Everyone woman reading this (hi Mom!) knows exactly what I'm talking about.

I'm standing on a carpeted pedestal in an Italian bridal shop with a 4ft tall woman pushing and pulling and tying up the back of my dress to assure that my rib cage is properly in place... and she peers up over her glasses and says "I'm not sure I've said this before in my career... but stop losing weight, you won't fit in your dress!!" BAH. Finally! Something that's working and my super well-fitting wedding dress will soon become a floating pile of boning and ivory material. It's a bitter-sweet feeling.

I've decided what to do about it though. Eureka! I will continue with my diet lifestyle change and hope I won't lose a lot more weight. However, with the German in-laws arriving next week, a lot of German sausage and creamy Swiss cheese is on the menu... mmmm. Maybe it won't be a 'problem' afterall.
