Because I think it's funny.

We made a video card for Cynthia's birthday... it took me 3 takes to get it right and ignore the creepo in the video.

Holidays are coming to an end...
Thursday morning, I wake up at the nearly ungodly hour of 7:30 am (I consider 6:00am to be the official "ungodly hour") and walk twenty steps to my comfy office chair behind my big desk and somewhat fancy computer (speaking of: the other day on Prison Break they had a brand new Mac sitting on the desk in a few scenes.. can I write them and ask for it? Do they give donations like that? I wish...)

All that to say: life resumes normalcy on Thursday and I'm excited to see what the routine has for me!! See, there's positivity in there.

And... Triple C is chillin' at my house (in my room) and I haven't seen her yet but I'm super stoked!!!

dirty feet

I'm very.. spur of the moment. Spontaneous, if you please. I don't particularily like planning things days in advance or having an itinerary. That's why last week I decided "why not go to Ottawa this weekend?" Sounds great to have a care-free week of vacation and to be able to venture over to see friends, but sometimes, I forget other promises I've made along the way. This weekend, I forgot I was supposed to have a lunch date with my dad and sister, but only remembered when I saw a voicemail from my dad on my cell. Oops.

Other than that, Ottawa was great! I saw my roommate from 5 years ago (man time goes quick!!) and Annie, before she gets hitched. I also got to take a super nice blister-inducing, sun-burning walk with Nat around a river (the Rideau... I believe) near her place. It was a chillax weekend. On the way to the river my beloved Brazil sandals from Uruguay broke. It was sad, let me tell you. So we turned around and walked back to get another pair at her house. Let's just say as much as I love being barefoot, the streets of Vanier aren't the best place to do so...

A blog I enjoy...

There's a blog that's pretty well known in the east coast Christian world... and I really enjoy reading it. Jon (the writer) is truthful, honest and challenging and sometimes he can be admittantly cocky. However, once in a while, he says something that truly rocks my world:

"
The more time I wrestled with that thought, the juxtaposition of need vs. love, the more I began to think that I had this whole thing backwards. Maybe if I listened to God and was honest with Him He’d whisper to me:

“Let me be clear. I am God. I am complete. I do not need your additions. I want your work to be an overflow of love. I want to pour so much love and strength and truth into you that you cannot help but do things. Add to the world. Add to the people around you. Overflow on them what I give to you. Not because I need you to do something but because you can’t help but go out and share the love I am overflowing in you."

Does God call us into big adventures that take us across the planet and across the break room at work? Without a doubt. Does He have a purpose for us that He loves seeing us fulfill in obedience? Certainly. Does He call us into those adventures because without us He can’t complete the work He intends? I don’t think so, because that would make Him an “almost god.” As in, He was almost able to tell people about His deep, ridiculous love for them online but He needed me to write the Stuff Christians Like blog first. Ha, that’s just silly."

Quote of the Week

"Guys like me, they fluff and they tinkle..."

I'm not gonna lie... this made me laugh quite a bit.

Quote of the Week

This week's:

"And God, I pray for some of that Spring action to start soon..."

I realized, the people I live with are just too funny not to quote them!

Quote of the Week

Last week's:

"My teeth feel like they're wearing little sweaters..."

baby food and frozen yogurt

I got my last two wisdom teeth taken out last Friday... I sincerely hope it doesn't have anything to do with actual wisdom - if it is, I'm in trouble.

Things went well! I was on heavy sedatives and I was allowed to bring my ipod with me. Jason Mraz is great for dental surgeries! However, after making a bad choice in a restaurant, I have a nasty little infection. I just grossed you all out. I know, and I'm sorry. A little.

Things are slowly "improving"... I'm on a no solid food diet, which is not as bad as I thought it would be, but still inconvenient. Ensure, baby food (which, is super good!), yogurt, smoothies, frozen yogurt, lukewarm soups (fyi: wonton is not so good lukewarm...) and healthy juices all make up my current diet. I think it's a little window into the future, you know when I'm 80, have no teeth and am sitting on my porch in a rocking chair surrounded by my cats. Ah yes...
