I tried. This morning I woke up ventured to my closet (which is a foot away from my bed, but had a lot of obstacles this morning), dug deep and pulled out my flip flops. The sun was shining, snow is melting, yes it's that time of year again! Flip flop season is upon us.
I took two steps out my front door and I think I shocked my toes... it's still super cold. I was so deceived! I took my flip flops and lovingly chucked them back into my closet for a few more weeks...

drip... drip..... drip.. drip
That's what I hear. The soothing but yet irritating sound of water dripping from the door frame in the office. I know that in about 2 hours the black mat in front of my desk will be soaking wet and all who enter will feel like they're wading through a kiddie pool.
I have mixed feelings about spring... sure, winter is melting away and trees will start sprouting leaves and of course, my birthday is in there somewhere too... but I would rather just skip from pretty winter whiteness to hot summer. The in-between stage of black snow, endless mud puddles and the black fly invasion isn't truly all that appealing. Believe it or not.
Perhaps while I listen to the office slowly flood and the rain quietly come down outside, I'll look at my screeensaver and/or ever-changing desktop and pretend I'm in Cuba or Uruguay. Because of about 50 pictures that rotate on my computer about 45 of them are of white sand beaches... *sigh*
